Our president, Ken Kruper, has been immersed in the construction industry for over 40 years, beginning with his carpentry apprenticeship in 1977 in a custom furniture and fine millwork shop in Calgary, where he discovered his passion for perfecting finer details. After exploring other facets of the construction industry and gaining valuable experience in concrete forming, framing, and finishing carpentry, Ken struck out on his own to form Surecraft in 1982 and then incorporating in 1986 in Alberta. Under Ken’s leadership, Surecraft quickly developed a reputation for excellence in all aspects of the building industry and was involved in many residential and commercial projects including offices, restaurants, nightclubs, and service stations. During this period, Surecraft also pioneered residential infill development in the trendy inner city areas of Calgary. After falling in love with Vancouver Island on a holiday with his young family, he relocated Surecraft to Nanoose Bay in 1993. Under Ken’s solid leadership, Surecraft once again developed a reputation for building excellence, and currently builds some of Vancouver Island’s finest homes.
